    Writer, Script Editor and Producer

    Dan writes for the BBC's Breaking the News and Newsjack as well as the legendary NewsRevue stage show and the award winningDamn the Torpedoes! on BFBS.

    He specialises in script-notes for sitcom and sketch and regularly works with independent producers.

    Dan runs comedy courses and writersrooms for new and experienced writers and is also an SRA/Radio 1 award-winning producer with a focus on independent pilots.

    Kate Hinksman


    Kate is a talented writer specialising in sketch comedy. Her credits include BBC Radio 4's Newsjack and the CBBC TV show Class Dismissed. Kate was shortlisted for the 2014 Funny Women comedy writing award.

    James Hamilton


    James is a triple award-winning comedy writer, best known for the acclaimed Casual Violence and popular podcast sitcom Hector Vs The Future. He has been commissioned by BBC Radio 4, nominated for a BBC Audio Drama Award and works as a regular staff writer on Cartoon Network’s BAFTA and Emmy winning The Amazing World of Gumball. He has also written for One Animation’s The Oddbods Show and Boomerang’s The Happos Family.

    Kate Stone


    Kate is the editor of Funny Women and an award winning script writer. She has written comedy sketches for the BBC's 100 Women project and created the Funny Women Awards Comedy Shorts category.

    Dan Sweryt

    Dan is an award-winning writer, with multiple BBC credits. He co-script edited the award winning Damn the Torpedoes! for BFBS and was part of the writing team nominated for 'Best Scripted Comedy' in the BBC Audio Drama Awards 2017.

    Stephen Mawhinney

    Writer and Script Editor

    Stephen has written for a range of BBC show including Breaking the News, Lewis MacLeod's Wired News, The News Quiz, Newsjack and BBC 1's Only an Excuse. He co-script edited and wrote for the award winning Damn the Torpedoes! for BFBS.

    Rich Woolford

    Writer / Performer

    Rich is an award winning joke and sketch writer winning Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival’s Best Sketch Award, UK Gold’s Best Joke Award and is a 2 x UK Pun Championship finalist. Credits include Have I Got News For You social media, BBC Radio 4 Extra’s Newsjack, Huffington Post’s TopicaLOL, NewsRevue and Viz.

    Stephen Holford


    Steve has worked on many BBC show including The News Quiz, The Show What You Wrote, Breaking the News, Lewis MacLeod's Wired News, Watson's Wind up and Newsjack, He won the #win100 joke competition a record 3 times and lives alone with his wife and two cats.

    Stu Cooper

    Writer and Script Editor

    Stu has written for many shows across TV, radio, stage and online, including as a member of the core writing team on BBC1's Only an Excuse, and Radio 4's Recorded for Training Purposes, as well as numerous BBC Radio Scotland shows. Stu co-script edited the award winning Damn the Torpedoes! for BFBS.
